The New District Heating Plant in Obereggen / San Floriano – A Sign of Our Environmental Consciousness
In the summer of 2007, the residents of Obereggen / San Floriano attained an additional milestone in preserving our natural environment with the establishment of a new district heating plant which runs on biomass (wood chips). The plant supplies all of the hotels and numerous other public buildings in the village with heat and hot water. Each year, approx. 500,000 liters of heating oil are thus saved. And special flue-gas purification equipment ensures that the plant complies with the most-stringent environmental protection regulations.
