Does Hotel Maria offer half-board?
At Hotel Maria, we pamper you with our inclusive Vitalpension package.
This includes breakfast, afternoon snack, and dinner. During the day, you can help yourself to juice and tea from the spring and the buffet.
What are the meal times for breakfast, lunch, and dinner?
- Breakfast: 7:30–10:00 a.m.
- Lunch: 12:00–1:00 p.m.
- Dinner: 6:30–8:30 p.m.
Is there a children’s menu or special dishes for kids?
At lunchtime, we offer a special children’s menu, and in the evening a dedicated kids’ menu.
We can also freshly prepare baby food at any mealtime.
Of course, we are happy to cater to special requests or prepare customized dishes.
Are regional products used – and which ones?
Whenever possible, we use regional products. In summer, we source vegetables, salads, and fruit from farmers in the Eggental valley. We also buy regional products such as dairy, cold cuts, meat, jams, and juices from local suppliers. For beverages, we offer a fine selection of organic juices from the region.
What exactly does the afternoon snack include?
Our afternoon snack offers something for every taste – sweet treats, homemade cakes, small bites like fruit salad or yogurt, and in winter, a warm soup.
What room categories are available, and how do they differ?
Hotel Maria offers various room types: double rooms, family rooms with extra beds or sofa beds, and family suites with separate children’s bedrooms. We have the perfect room for every need.
Are there family rooms with separate sleeping areas for children?
Yes, you can choose from our family rooms and suites according to your family’s needs.
Are baby cots, changing tables, or kettles available?
Yes, we can provide all of these upon request. Please let us know your needs in advance so everything is ready upon arrival.
Do the lodges have their own kitchen or dining area?
Our new Eco Lodges feature a fully equipped kitchen, a living and dining area, two bathrooms, and two bedrooms. Some lodges have a Finnish outdoor sauna, others include a second level for larger families. The design is modern yet cozy – with plenty of wood and every comfort.
Is there a children’s pool or family area?
Yes, Hotel Maria offers a swimming pool for the whole family and a children’s pool area with a water depth of 30 cm.
Which saunas are available, and is there a family sauna?
Guests can enjoy our Finnish sauna and aroma steam bath. Both are open to families from 2:00–4:00 p.m. After 4:00 p.m., the sauna area is reserved for adults.
Are children allowed in the spa? Is there a minimum age?
Our saunas are family-friendly from 2:00–4:00 p.m. and adults-only afterward. There are no age restrictions for the pool and sauna areas.
Which spa treatments are available?
We offer a wide range of beauty and massage treatments for adults, children, and teens. A qualified staff member is available from Monday to Friday.
From what age is childcare available?
Our childcare service is available for children aged 3 and above. During Happy Baby Weeks, we also offer toddler care from 8 months, outside school holiday periods. Check our offers or contact us for exact dates.
Individual baby care is available year-round on request (for a fee).
What are the childcare hours – and on weekends?
Childcare is available from Monday to Friday from 9:30 a.m.–8:30 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Please note that on Sunday we do not offer childcare as it is the main arrival day.
During Happy Baby Weeks: Monday–Friday 9:30 a.m.–7:00 p.m., Saturday 9:30 a.m.–2:00 p.m.
What activities are offered in the kids’ club?
Our childcare provides age-appropriate programs with both indoor and outdoor activities, especially in summer. Nature discovery games, climbing, biking, learning, and fun parties are part of the program.
Are there outdoor programs like horseback riding, climbing, or llama trekking?
Yes, our children’s program includes activities such as climbing and biking. We can also assist with arranging external activities like horseback riding, rafting, high-rope courses, the Alpine Coaster, or llama trekking. These are organized through external providers and must be booked directly.
Do hiking trails start directly from the hotel?
Yes, Obereggen has a large network of hiking and biking trails that start right outside Hotel Maria. Maps and tips are available at the reception. Christoph Kofler is happy to share his favorite routes or help plan your day trips. Many paths are stroller-friendly, and there are themed trails for families, such as the Latemarium.
Is there a bike rental?
We offer children’s and adult bikes for rent directly at the hotel. An additional rental service in Obereggen also provides e-bikes.
How far is the nearest ski area?
The Latemar ski area is right outside our door – no bus or car needed! You can ski straight onto the slopes or to the ski school.
What family-friendly excursion destinations are nearby?
Plenty of options: Merano, Bolzano, Bressanone, the Natural History Museum, the Ötzi Museum, Messner Mountain Museum Firmian, Merano Thermal Baths, Lake Caldaro, Lake Monticolo, Bletterbach Gorge, the Bee Museum, Ritten Cable Car, Ritten and Steinegg earth pyramids, local cheese dairies and farms, Alpine Coaster, and the Sentiero del Drago in Gardone.
What is your cancellation policy – including for child illness?
Our cancellation policy:
- Up to 21 days before arrival: 30% of the total price
- Up to 14 days before arrival: 40% of the total price
- From 13 days before arrival: 70% of the total price
For late arrival or early departure, we charge at least 3 half-board days.
We recommend taking out travel cancellation insurance.
When can I check in?
Rooms are available from 3:00 p.m. on your arrival day. Please vacate your room by 10:00 a.m. on departure day so we can prepare for new guests.
Are there parking spaces, a garage, or charging stations?
Yes, there are parking spaces directly at the hotel, a large parking area, and a garage next to the lodges. Two e-charging stations are available in the garage.
What services are included?
Our inclusive services: breakfast, afternoon snack, dinner, kids’ menu, childcare, toddler care during Happy Baby Weeks, family pool, baby pool, panoramic relaxation area, sun terrace, children’s play areas, playground, Finnish sauna, aroma steam bath, gym, garage, parking, restaurant baby amenities (bibs, high chairs, children’s cutlery, coloring materials), board games, baby equipment in rooms (cot, changing mat, step stool, children’s bathrobe), adult bathrobe and towels for pool and sauna, baby carriers, and off-road strollers.
In the lodges: fully equipped kitchen, bed linen, towels, final cleaning, and mid-stay cleaning for stays of 7+ nights.
